Big Talbot Island

On my day off this week I went down to Amelia Island which is in Florida.  It's just north of Jacksonville and only takes about an hour to get there.  I went to visit Kim's sisters family to play some golf and stay the night.  I played golf with Jamie, Christie's husband/Kim's brother-in-law, Wednesday afternoon.  Then Thursday morning Christie, Maci, Chandler and I went driving around Amelia Island and the other islands because I had never driven around there before.  It is a beautiful place.

The pictures are from Big Talbot Island.  It is a state park, so there is nothing on this island except a ranger station and a road.  We went to this beach where the shoreline keeps eroding, so the trees keep falling onto the beach and are left there.  It's really neat to walk around.  There are all these neat islands that are only about a 20-30 minute drive to downtown Jacksonville.

U.S. Open Week- Fun Stuff

One night I met Damon, Joy and Gunnar (Zach's caddy and his family) at Bethesda Crab House.  By the time I got there they had almost downed this bucket of crabs.  They wanted the jumbo crabs, so they had to call in and order them earlier in the day.

They saved one for me!

They told me this was the wrong way to eat it…Iowa girls don't know how to eat these things!!

It gets a little crazy and messy eating these

Employee night out!

Dennis and I drove a couple hours up to Pennsylvania to visit Ty and Trina Krieger.  Loved seeing Jessie and Faith.  Totally worth the trip up there!

This is how we spent our 2 hours up and 2 hours back in the car…never a dull moment!

This is what an Asian (my favorite Asian) looks like dancing in the car  :)

Serious snapping of the fingers going on

The band made an appearance!  Needed Whitney, but we managed with Dennis on guitar and me on the drums.  Don't worry mom, we were at a stop light!

Help my 3-Day team and I get one step closer to putting an end to breast cancer. Donate to my 3-Day 60 mile walk! We are walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure in Dallas, TX in November. It is an amazing experience that not only raises money for research and community programs, but it also creates awareness in each of the 14 big cities the walk is held in. Each participant must raise $2,300 to walk. Last year I raised over $3,000 and with your help I'm hoping I can do it again!

It's as easy as clicking on the Susan. G. Komen box to the right! Everyone deserves a lifetime.

U.S. Open- Golf Stuff

Last week we were at the U.S. Open in Maryland.  The tournament was played at Congressional.  It was a beautiful golf course and clubhouse.  I went to the course on Tuesday to take some pictures and get some merchandise.  I watched golf on Thursday and Friday.  Thursday I watched a little bit of Zach and a little bit of Elliot Gealy, a good friend of mine I met in Orlando.  Then Friday I just watched Elliot.  Saturday Dennis and I went to visit good friends of ours that had moved from Orlando to Pennsylvania.  They have 2 little girls now.  It was great to see them! Then Sunday we left early to head back to Georgia, so we didn't watch any golf except at home on the tv.

The driving range.  If your curious…Sergio is in the bright green, Henrik Stenson is just to the right of him, Ricky Fowler is in the bright green 5 or 6 guys down from Sergio and Jim Furyk is just to the left of him.

Minneapolis Trip

This past weekend I flew to Minneapolis to hang out with Jamie for the weekend.  It had been a while since I had been up there just to hang with her.  So, Friday morning I was hanging out in her apartment waiting for her to get off work when I answered a knock at her door to find Conley, Shay, Sara, Mom and Dad at the door!  They surprised me and came up for the weekend to hang out as well.  It was a great surprise and a nice little family get together.  As usual we did all sorts of stuff!  We swam in the really cold pool, went to the farmers market, did Como Zoo and Como Town, went to the Mall of America to shop and do the rides and walked around one of the beautiful lakes by Jamie's apartment.  I also got to visit with Nathan and Megan Schlueter, Ben and Erin George and Amy Schmucker.  They are friends from high school, college and from the Futures Tour.  It was a great weekend!  Again, posted a lot of pictures cause there were just too many good ones.

Barbecue at Jamie's pool for lunch on Friday after they surprised me

Shay just chillin by herself with her drink on the steps

It was a beautiful day out, but unfortunately the pool had to have been maybe 60 degrees.  Dad, Conley, Shay and I were the only ones to get in.  After about 10 minutes you didn't feel your legs and then it was fine in the pool so long as no one splashed your half that wasn't in the pool which Dad and Conley enjoyed doing!

Conley trying to take a snooze like Grandma was but of course there was too much going on for him to actually rest for more than a few minutes.

These 3 loved sitting on the balcony watching everyone walk by and talk about everything they saw

Conley and Grandpa at the Farmers Market

Farmers Market

Conley had to be in charge of the map at the Como Zoo.  He was always telling us which way the next animals were.  For the first 5 minutes he had the map upside down!

Con still holding onto his map and checking out the gorillas with Shay.  He didn't let go of his map til we were done at the park!

One of the rides these two rode at Como Town.  It was a fun little park with rides and games right next to the Como Zoo.  They obviously didn't want to sit by each other.  Shay was giving me one of her famous stink eyes!

After the famers market, Como Zoo and Como Town we went to the Mall of America.  Conley and Dad went to do the rides and the girls went to shop.  In one of the stores Shay found a pack of silly bands, sat down and opened them up and started putting them on.  So, of course we had to buy them then.

Con doing the kid bumper cars.  These were his favorite, he rode them 5 times in a row!

Shay and Conley doing the Blues Clues ride together

Shay riding the little merry-go-round ride while Conley did another ride

Love these kids!

Conley and Grandpa were getting bored with the girls shopping.  I suppose you can't blame them!

Taking a much needed break in the stroller

Sibling love!

They play nice most of the time

Conley in his pj's still wearing his new baseball hat!  He got it that day and hardly took it off all day and most of the day Sunday.

Jamie and her friends wrote this on their Bud Light bottle and wanted me to take a picture of it.  Notice Mrs. Butter-Worth's in the background!  ha  We were at this bar called the cafeteria which looked kind of like a cafeteria and it served food all day and turned into a bar at night.

I was able to see Ben and Erin George while I was there.  They are my good friends and old teammates from the UNI golf team.

Walking around the lake to the park area

Shay and Jamie playing together

Sara and Hollywood in Con's hat.  Hollywood is the new nickname Jamie gave her after she was spotted walking down the sidewalk with her cool shades on and talking up a storm looking all cool!

Sara, Shay, Jamie and Conley checking out the water.  Sara, the kids and Mom and Dad were leaving this day after lunch so no swimming in the lake for us this time.
